MIRI: Riam Road Secondary School (RRSS) will hold its annual food fair at the school hall from 8am to 1pm on Sept 21.

According to its principal, Liew Si Chung, the food fair has already received much support from the local community even prior to the event itself. It is held to raise fund to improve and upgrade some of the school facilities.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOPB) yesterday came with a donation of 98 bottles of 500ml Merris Natural Vegetable Oil (Classic) and 150 bottles of 2kg of Merris Pure Vegetable Oil, which were handed over to Liew by its Consumer Products Marketing manager Paul Ch’ng.

SOPB is expanding its CSR project in reaching out to the community, an example that should be emulated by other corporations. — Liew Si Chung, Riam Road Secondary School principal.

Liew said this was the fourth consecutive year SOPB came to donate its own brand of cooking oil to the school for the food fair.

“SOPB is expanding its CSR project in reaching out to the community, an example that should be emulated by other corporations.”

Liew also reminded those coming to the food fair to bring their own eco-bags and food container to reduce the use of plastic food containers and plastic bags.
